A Response to COVID-19 From OWC Founder and CEO, Larry O'Connor

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions - Knowledge Base

Can I use more than one interface (e.g. USB and FireWire) at the same time?

No, it's only possible to use one interface at the time. The system will recognize whichever connection was established first.

In order to use a new interface, disconnect the current cable first and then connect the new cable. If the device is not recognized, turn off the power and restart the device.

Note
It's possible to connect multiple FireWire devices in a daisy chain. However, in order to access and use all of the drives, the power has to be ON at all times or any devices that come in the chain after it will not be recognized.
