The firmware is updated automatically over the internet whenever a new version is available. If you find that the current firmware version of your device does not match the latest version as seen in the change log on our Wiki at http://wiki.myakitio.com/software_changelog, follow these instructions.

  1. Login to your MyCloud as administrator.
  2. Go to Preferences > Firmware (see http://wiki.myakitio.com/system_information_firmware).
  3. Make sure the Auto Update function is enabled.
  4. Reboot the system and give it about 10-20 minutes before checking the firmware version again.
  5. If the firmware version is still not up to date, please contact our tech support.

Note: When a new firmware was only just released, please wait a day or two before contacting tech support. If the servers are busy, it's possible that your device is not updated immediately and it might take a short while before all units are updated.
