Anang's Thunder Dock

We are always interested and also just a little proud to see our products in use by our customers. It helps us to learn what we have done right, see what can be improved and gives us fresh ideas for new products. If you don't mind sharing how your own workspace looks like, please send us a picture of your setup with a few details about the equipment that is used. Of course, any comments, positive or negative, are welcome too.

MyCloud GUI

The latest firmware release for our MyCloud products is now available for download.

To get it, login to your network drive via the web interface, go to "Preferences" and select "Firmware". Make sure that "Auto Update" is enabled and the next time you reboot or start up your device, it will automatically download and install the latest firmware.

This is a minor release with a only a couple of bug fixes. The only new addition is the support for certain new browsers (e.g. Chrome Version 32 and Korean IE 10).

AKiTiO Thunder2 Quad Mini

With Thunderbolt™ 2, speeds are doubled from 10Gb/s to 20Gb/s and the interface supports true uncompressed 4K video but what does that mean for Thunderbolt 2 storage drives in the real world? What requirements have to be met in order to fully utilize this new technology?

In this article we will have a look at the upcoming AKiTiO Thunder 2 Quad Mini, a 4-bay storage enclosure designed for up to four 2.5" SATA-III drives that features the latest Thunderbolt 2 interface.

AKiTiO's Thunderbolt 2 drive, the Thunder 2 Quad Mini, will be available this summer in 2015.

MyCloud GUI

Make sure that "Auto Update" is enabled and the next time you reboot or start up your device, it will automatically download and install the latest firmware.

This is a minor release with a only a couple of bug fixes. The only new feature is the option to set a passive port range for the FTP server, allowing you to better setup the firewall and port forwarding, so that SSL encryption can now also be used for remote connections.

MyCloud App

The AKiTiO MyCloud App for iOS and Android allows users of the MyCloud personal cloud server to access their digital content stored on the MyCloud unit from a mobile device. Open the app and gain access to your music, videos, photo libraries and other digital documents no matter if at home or on the road.

The latest version of the MyCloud App for iOS (v2.0.0) and Android (v1.8.3) comes with a new backup function for your camera roll. Provided that your device is connected via Wi-Fi, you can now automatically backup your photos and videos from the camera roll whenever the app is running.
